Many users consider DaVinci Resolve to be an excellent choice when it comes to video editing and color correction. The software is available for Windows, Linux, macOS and iPadOS. A special feature is that the free version is a little limited in terms of functionality, but it is still ideal for many extensive jobs. Now the developers are presenting version 21. The biggest innovation is probably the “Photo Page”. It allows you to import images without an additional app. Users can also access the color correction tools that are also available for video editing.

Another focus is on AI, for example to identify people or objects. “AI CineFocus” also makes it possible to determine the focus of an image retrospectively. “AI Face Age Transformer” takes a person’s age and adjusts it accordingly. DaVinci Resolve 21 is currently available as a public beta. An exact release date for the final version is not yet available.

Age verification in Great Britain is causing criticism
Since iOS 26.4, iPhone users in selected countries have to confirm their legal age in order to access the Internet without restrictions. If this does not happen, certain images and content in apps and the browser will be automatically blocked. Apple’s precautions in the United Kingdom annoy the civil rights organization Big Brother Watch: Cupertino is overstepping the mark. British law imposes restrictions on minors, but these can come from online services and websites. However, restrictions at the operating system level are not absolutely necessary. Apple was adopting a practice that is used in some US states, although it is not required in the UK.

There are several ways to prove age – such as an Apple account that was created at least 18 years ago. Credit cards and driver’s licenses serve a similar purpose. However, debit cards and passports are not accepted, which excludes many people, according to Big Brother Watch.
