The breadth of the business model is essential for Amazon’s rise: In addition to classic online trading, the cloud division with Amazon Web Services (AWS) is growing strongly – the latter also contributes significantly more to the group’s profit than the classic business. In 2025, this was $77.7 billion (Walmart: $22.27 billion) – according to financial reports, AWS alone brought in an increase of $45.6 billion. Another comparative figure: Apple achieved a surplus of $112 billion in fiscal year 2025.
Gemini gets music creation tool
Google has expanded its AI chatbot Gemini to include a new, generative music function: Lyria 3, an AI music model from DeepMind, is being added to the app as a beta function. However, users cannot use it to create complete music tracks; the limit is currently 30 seconds. As usual for Gemini, production takes place via natural language input. The feature is also intended to create soundtracks for uploaded photo or video material.
Google emphasizes that the model was trained to generate original music rather than directly imitating existing artists. Lyria 3 will be launched worldwide, initially in eight languages - German is one of them. By the way, tracks receive a SynthID watermark to mark them as AI-generated. The company also plans to integrate Lyria 3 into YouTube, for example for soundtracks to short videos.
