Ice cream confectionery like before – grandma cooks

Ice cream confectionery grandma recipe on wooden board

Who doesn’t know the little bites full of chocolate that melt in your mouth particularly deliciously? You can easily make these little ice cream pralines yourself. With a few ingredients and an ice cube tray (or praline molds) you can bring nostalgia into the fridge.

Ice cream confectionery is not a praline in the true sense. It’s not filled, it’s just chocolate enriched with coconut oil. They come in different flavors. The small bites need to be well chilled and taste best that way.

storage

As the name suggests, this sweet, also called ischoclat, needs to be stored in a cool place. It can be frozen or chilled in the refrigerator. Stored in an airtight container, it will stay fresh in the refrigerator for several weeks.

Have you already tried our rum pralines (rum truffles) or almond macaroons?

  • Get your tin foil or aluminum praline cases ready. Place them on a large plate or tray that fits in the refrigerator. You can also use clean ice cube trays for a different shape. Different shapes give your ice cream confectionery a great twist.

  • Start by breaking or chopping the chocolate coating into small pieces. Put them in a small metal bowl with the coconut oil. Fill a larger pot with water and hang a metal bowl in it so that it just hangs above the water.

  • Now bring the water to the boil and slowly stir the couverture and coconut oil. It should be shiny and homogeneous.

  • As soon as the mixture has melted, add the powdered sugar, a pinch of salt and the cocoa powder. Now add the vanilla flavor and cinnamon if necessary.
  • Stir well until everything is well mixed.

  • It’s best to take a teaspoon and fill each mold with the chocolate mixture. You can fill each ramekin to the top.

  • Now each can be garnished with additional chopped nuts or a pinch of cocoa powder. I often add small, colorful chocolate buttons.

  • Place the plate with the ramekins in the refrigerator. They need to set for 2 hours.

  • When your ice cream confectionery has completely hardened, you can enjoy it straight away. Alternatively, pack it in an airtight container and leave it in the fridge or freezer.
