Homage to Karl Lagerfeld

Unpaid advertising – because brand name

Hello my dear sewing friends,

When I have a favorite piece of clothing in my closet, I’m addicted to it and would like to have it in several colors. This is the fourth time I have sewn the bouclè dress with the attached pleated skirt according to Burda Young pattern 6853. I should actually be able to sew the pattern in my sleep… and yet a lot of things went wrong with this boucle dress. 🙁 After I put the dress in my pink jute bag, it was slightly damp and stained the almost finished dress with a few strong pink spots on the front and back. Thank God the dress was saved with a rich bath in chlorine. Surprisingly, the bouclè fabric survived and was not damaged. The black border had completely come loose because the chlorine had completely eaten the thread and the white silk lining had turned a musty brown. At moments like this I’m about to throw the sewing project in the bin. But when I wear the dress with the sewing girls at an event like the Karl Lagerfeld exhibition in the museum, I’m glad I didn’t throw the needle in the grain. Do you also know that emotional carousel at the sewing machine?

My outfit:

Pearl earrings & pearl necklace: vintage via flea market
Bouclè dress: self-sewn according to Burda Young pattern 6853
Overknees: Buffalo
Coat: Max Mara

My dear friend and photographer Lena took the pictures. If you would like to do a shoot with her, just send her a message via her Instagram account villaamwald
