After Wi-Fi and Bluetooth problems and a melting LED flashlight, users of Pixel smartphones on Reddit and in the Google Issue Tracker are now reporting the third, apparently relatively widespread problem in 2026 alone. Affected smartphones from the Pixel 6 to the Pixel 10 (approx. 590 euros on Amazon), including cheap a and expensive Pro models, have no longer been able to boot properly since the large Pixel Feature Drop was installed in March.
When switching on, either only the Google logo or an error message is displayed. Instead of switching on, affected Pixel smartphones keep restarting themselves. This bootloop essentially makes a smartphone unusable. Some users can at least use recovery mode and reset the smartphone to factory settings. While this solves the problem, it also deletes all data stored on the device.
Google is already working on the problem, but has not yet commented on the cause or the timeline for a solution. According to Android Authority, at least in some cases it is possible to continue using the smartphone in safe mode. To do this, the smartphone must be connected to a charger and switched on. As soon as the Google logo is visible, the volume up and volume down buttons must be pressed at the same time until the boot animation can be seen. In safe mode, only those apps that are already installed on a new Android installation are available, so the range of functions is drastically limited.
