Autumn is known to be the time of year when most new series and films appear on our favorite streaming services. After we’ve enjoyed some highlights over the last few weeks, it’s high time for a few new recommendations.
By the way: Have you already seen our Netflix highlights for the first half of 2025? We continue with five brand new recommendations that couldn’t be more different.
New Netflix tips: Films and series worth seeing in October 2025
1. The Woman in Cabin 10
I was very excited about the film with Keira Knightley because the trailer looked promising – and I wasn’t disappointed. Laura (Keira), a journalist, is invited onto a luxurious yacht to report on a special charity project. During the night she hears a loud argument in the cabin next door, and shortly afterwards a person falls overboard. When she alerts the crew, she begins to doubt her sanity: According to the crew members, there was never a passenger in the cabin. But Laura saw the person with her own eyes the day before. When she investigates on her own, she puts herself in great danger…
2. Victoria Beckham
Victoria Beckham is one of the most famous women in the world and has been in the spotlight for over 30 years – first as a member of the world’s most successful girl group, now as a celebrated designer. Maybe I’m a bit of a fangirl, which is why I was really looking forward to the documentary. What did I particularly like about the documentary? She seems really real. Victoria appears authentic, vulnerable and speaks openly about all the obstacles that were put in her way – and about those that she has repeatedly put in her own way. For the first time she speaks publicly about her eating disorder. And honestly, I had to swallow several times when I saw how much even such a successful woman had (and still has) to struggle in the toxic fashion world.
I worked in the fashion industry for many years, got to know its depths – and at some point I consciously said goodbye to it. But of course there were also many beautiful moments that I look back on fondly. I was able to meet impressive personalities. Yes, Victoria Beckham too. Fun fact: At a press event back in New York, she laughed a lot – just not in front of the camera.
My conclusion: The documentary is honest, touching and absolutely worth seeing. Be sure to check it out!

3. Nobody Wants This – Season 2 (from October 23rd)
Why am I recommending a season I haven’t seen yet? Because the first season was so wonderful that I am 100% sure that the second season will also be very worth watching. You can read more about Nobody Wants This here! The new episodes start next week!
4. French Lover
A lot of romantic comedies have appeared on Netflix in the last few weeks – and honestly, some of them were just way too cheesy, way too predictable and overall just a little too much. A refreshing exception for me was the rom-com French Lover: the story of a famous movie star who unexpectedly falls in love with a waitress. But the different realities of life between the two of course cause a few stumbling blocks on the way to a happy ending. The film is charming, light and entertaining – perfect for a relaxed movie night.
5. Alpha male
Honestly? I never thought I would recommend this series to you. Chris and I would probably never have ended up on the series if we hadn’t been home sick recently and hadn’t been desperately looking for some really light series fare. It turned out: The series about four men in their forties who have problems balancing modern masculinity and patriarchy turned out to be really funny and entertaining.
On top, a series recommendation on Amazon Prime Video:
The Poison of the Soul, a gripping psychological thriller about a bitter confrontation between a suspicious mother and her son’s new girlfriend. The two women engage in a dangerous power game for love, control and influence. Particularly exciting: The series is told from the perspectives of both women and surprises with some shocking plot twists.
Last, but not least: At Apple TV+ A new episode of the fourth season of The Morning Show is currently online every week. We introduced you to the series here!
