BIG BIG NEWS: Jesse and I are bursting with pride – we have become parents! Ok, ok, it’s been a while, but hey, better late than never 😛 Our little sunshine has been with us for a year now and I haven’t blogged since. No contributions, no collages, no collaborations. I know this may be surprising. After all, I’ve been blogging for over a decade and have never taken such a long break. Despite all the ups and downs, I always managed to provide regular updates. But as everyone predicted: a baby changes everything!
I guess I was a bit naive and thought I could blog here and there in the evenings or while the baby was sleeping (lol…). Total misjudgment. Unfortunately, the birth was anything but child’s play and it took me a while to recover. The first few months were incredibly exhausting.
I know that the early days of having a baby are challenging for most parents. But our little darling had massive sleep problems, waking up almost every hour due to allergies and reflux. After the sixth month it got a little easier, but it’s still a challenge. We’ve found a rhythm, but his sleep is still terrible most of the time. Despite all the teething problems, we are incredibly happy, grateful and extremely blessed! Life with our little one is simply wonderful, he is the best thing that has ever happened to us! Maybe I’ll share more of our experiences as new parents later.
But as soon as things became a little more relaxed with the baby, I felt somehow “out” of the whole thing. I stopped updating my Instagram as often and just couldn’t really immerse myself in the social media world. It’s so easy to get away from the window and the content quickly loses relevance if you’re not constantly online. I also didn’t want to be limited to typical mom content; I wanted to continue sharing my usual fashion, interior and lifestyle content, perhaps with a touch of everyday mom life. I also don’t want to show the little ones properly or make my content dependent on them or on life as a parent. Balancing work and family life was also a challenge, as I only had a few hours in the evening (not every evening!!!) to devote to my existing clients.
But this week was a turning point: our little one now goes to daycare every morning, which gives me the opportunity to get more involved in my work as a content creator again! I’m officially BACK! Right now I’m focusing on the blog, Instagram and my newest platform, TikTok. Maybe next year I’ll consider reviving my YouTube channel, but that’s still up in the air.
After this detailed update, I want to hear from you: WHAT do you want to see on the blog and social media? I do have some plans focusing on interiors and lifestyle, but I’d love to know what interests you! Your feedback is incredibly important to me, and I’m here to create content that you’ll enjoy. Let’s chat! What would you be happy about?
