Last week it was announced that Uber would take over Delivery Hero for around 13 billion euros. This means that one of the most succinct Berlin founder stories continues as a side quest to an American one. Former Delivery Hero employees have also founded numerous companies of their own. There are 42 in number, according to an analysis by the investment firm Accel. With such a powerful network, the scene likes to refer to it as a “mafia”. This is based on the numerous start-ups that emerged from the so-called PayPal mafia in Silicon Valley.
