Every Baroque Works Member In One Piece, Ranked By Bounty

One of the most memorable non-pirate organizations in One Piece, Baroque Works, once gave themselves over to the pirate life, only to later turn bounty hunter. Led by former Warlord of the Sea, Crocodile, the group managed to rack up an impressive collection of bounties.

Headquartered in Alabasta at the time of their fall, Baroque Works was exposed and dismantled after the failure of Operation Utopia, with many of its members defeated by the Straw Hats and later arrested by the Marines. With bounties meant to measure an individual’s abilities and strengths, one discrepancy arises with Baroque Works, due to their bounties being frozen after they were forced apart.

Mr. 4 Was Too Forgettable To Be A Serious Villain

Mr. 4, also known as Babe, was one of the major antagonists during the Alabasta arc. Alongside his partner, Miss Merry Christmas, he fought off against Usopp and Chopper in an attempt to take them down. Unlike the rest of the agents, who were fairly capable on their own, Mr. 4 is a slow-minded individual who would’ve been completely helpless without his partner’s orders. He is also one of the few numbered agents without a Devil Fruit ability.

Although lacking both intelligence and a Devil Fruit, Mr. 4 had considerable reserves of strength. He often used his 4-ton baseball bat in battle, generating attacks and shockwaves powerful enough to demolish walls. That said, Mr. 4 was far too forgettable to be a serious One Piece villain, as attested by his negligible bounty of 3.2 million berries — the lowest on this list.

10

Miss Valentine Was Powerful But Overly Conceited

Miss Valentine, or Mikita, was an agent who partnered with Mr. 5. She ate the Kiro Kiro no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that gave her the ability to alter her weight. She could go as low as 0 kilos, allowing her to float, or reach whopping 10,000 Kilos. While she might not be one of the strongest agents, Miss Valentine wasn’t a weakling either. As a testament to her strength, she was easily able to immobilize Vivi.

However, Miss Valentine also proved to be rather conceited, refusing to consider the Straw Hats as real threats. She could easily take Usopp down, but Miss Valentine was no match for either Zoro or Luffy, neither of whom was even fighting her. All things considered, Miss Valentine was shown to be still alive as of the Egghead Arc, and with a 7.5 million berry bounty.

Mr. 5 Has One Of The Most Dangerous Devil Fruit Abilities

Mr. 5 with Miss Valentine during One Piece’s Alabasta arc

Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine were central antagonists during the early arcs of the Alabasta Saga — namely, the Whiskey Peak arc and the Little Garden arc. The duo operated in a rather organized manner, as Mr. 5 handled the majority of the fighting while Miss Valentine provided occasional vital support. Unfortunately, Mr. 5 was about as overconfident as his partner.

Known as the Bomb-Bomb Fruit in Funimation’s One Piece dub, Mr. 5 ate the Bomu Bomu no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that granted him the ability to transform his body into a walking bomb. As Mr. 3 puts it, the Bomb-Bomb Fruit is an above-average Devil Fruit with plenty of untapped potential. Creating explosions from one’s body sounds like it could be quite powerful. That said, Mr. 5 simply never figured out his Devil Fruit, even as he earned himself a 10 million berry bounty.

Miss Merry Christmas Played A Relatively Big Role In The Alabasta Arc

Miss Merry Christmas ready to attack in One Piece

Unlike the Mr. 5 and Miss Valentine pair who had most of their action before the main Alabasta Arc, Miss Merry Christmas played a major role throughout the Alabasta Arc. Miss Merry Christmas fought against Usopp as her contribution to stopping the Straw Hats and nearly succeeded in doing so. Also known as Drophy, Miss Merry Christmas combined her impressive powers with her intelligence.

As the eater of the Mogu Mogu no Mi, Miss Merry Christmas gained the ability to become an enormous mole. In this form, she’s capable of rapidly burrowing into the ground. This tactic can be used to surprise opponents during a fight, prevent attacks from reaching her, or help her escape. Miss Merry Christmas had a bounty of 14 million Berries by the time of the organization’s disbandment, a decent sum but nothing compared to the rest of Baroque Works.

7

Mr. 3 Has Since Become A Member Of The Infamous Cross Guild

In contrast to his Baroque Works colleagues who mostly retired after the organization’s fall, Mr.3 played a role in future arcs, as well. Having been soundly thrashed by the Straw Hats, he was sent to Impel Down, where he managed to escape during the confusion caused by Luffy’s infiltration. Mr. 3 used the opportunity to escape his confinement, eventually going on an entire adventure alongside Buggy and Luffy.

Mr. 3 helped shield Luffy against Warden Magellan’s poison attacks, while his efforts during the Marineford arc were indispensable. Without his assistance, freeing Ace from his shackles would’ve been a few more times harder. Mr. 3 later became a core member of Buggy’s infamous organized mercenary group, Buggy’s Delivery, which has since become part of the notorious Cross Guild. Across it all, he racked up a 24 million Berry bounty.

6

Miss Goldenweek Uses A Strange Yet Effective Painting Ability

Miss Goldenweek was Mr. 3’s partner during the Little Garden Arc. She often preferred to take her time on missions, and would rather have a picnic or relax than do anything else. Miss Goldenweek’s tactical knowledge and combat expertise were extremely support-oriented, although she had no Devil Fruit ability. As such, she could easily be subdued by multiple weak opponents attacking from different fronts.

Miss Goldenweek employs a strange hypnotic technique known as Colors Trap, which involves realistic painting. As a psychological ability, Colors Trap couldn’t actually capture anyone unless they really believed that the technique worked. Against simpletons such as Luffy, it could do miracles and prove to be quite a challenge. All things considered, however, Miss Goldenweek’s 29 million berry bounty is a pittance compared to those topping this list.

5

Mr. 2 Bon Clay Is One Of The Most Beloved One Piece Characters

The magnificently flamboyant Mr. 2 Bon Clay is one of the greatest characters in One Piece. Although he was defeated by Sanji, he showed nothing but respect and admiration for his opponent. Later, Bon Clay helped the Straw Hats flee the Marines who had appeared in Alabasta. He showed no hesitation in risking his life for his enemy-turned-friend, Luffy. However, that was not the only sacrifice he made.

Bon Clay stayed back in Impel Down to keep the Gates of Justice open, allowing hundreds of prisoners and Luffy to escape. He has since shown to be still alive, and carrying a 32 million bounty, although he has taken over Emporio Ivankov’s regal job in Newkama Land. That said, the entire One Piece community hopes for a reunion between Bon-chan and Straw-chan.

4

Miss Doublefinger Lost To Nami After A Hilariously Extended Battle

Miss Doublefinger was Daz Bone’s partner during the events of Alabasta. She volunteered to take down Nami, a seemingly weak individual, yet was ironically defeated in the process. Miss Doublefinger’s loss could mainly be attributed to her over-reliance on her Devil Fruit ability, which was justified considering her position. She was also a rather talented combatant, as seen during her battle with Nami.

However, Miss Doublefinger continuously misjudged her enemy’s skills, especially mocking Nami’s Clima-Tact weapon for being useless. Miss Doublefinger’s Devil Fruit, the Toge Toge no Mi (or the Spike-Spike Fruit in Funimation’s dub), allowed her to sprout extremely powerful spikes from her body. While this ability is certainly useful in close-contact fights, Miss Doublefinger’s bounty of 35 million berries doesn’t take into account her bombastic bluster.

3

Mr. 1 Nearly Took Zoro To Death’s Doorstep

In terms of physical prowess, Mr. 1 was only second to Crocodile. The rest of the Baroque Works agents, which included Robin, were no match for him in that regard. Due to the nature of his Devil Fruit ability, Mr. 1 gave Zoro a real run for his money. The Supa Supa no Mi — aka the Dice-Dice Fruit in Funimation’s One Piece dub — could spawn metal blades from anywhere on his body, in addition to making him rather durable.

In fact, Mr. 1 could simultaneously transform multiple body parts into blades, allowing him to become a human weapon. As such, he was an insurmountable mountain that Zoro had to bypass in order to further advance, both figuratively and literally. By the end of their fight, Zoro would have collapsed dead if he hadn’t heard “the breath of all things.” Only with this metamorphosis was he capable of bringing Mr. 1 down. Mr. 1’s impressive 75 million berry bounty may seem high, but in comparison to Crocodile, it’s a mere drop in the bucket.

📖
Robin

🍳
Sanji

You don’t understand the word impossible — not because you’re naive, but because you genuinely never accepted that it applied to you. You charge into every situation with the full force of your personality, your body, and your heart, and somehow the universe rearranges itself to accommodate you. You don’t lead through command; you lead through being so completely, recklessly yourself that everyone around you becomes a better version of who they were. You eat too much, feel too loudly, and care too deeply. The world calls it recklessness. Your crew calls it home. 🍖

You have made exactly one promise and you have organised your entire existence around keeping it. Stoic to a fault, terrifying in combat, and somehow always facing the wrong direction — you are the immovable foundation that the whole crew leans against when everything else shakes. You don’t ask for recognition. You don’t need it. The work is its own reward. The sword is the path and the path is the sword. You will lose a thousand times before you reach the top, and you will get back up every single time. That is not stubbornness. That is who you are. ⚔️

You are sharper than anyone in the room and you know it — but you also know exactly when not to show it. Pragmatic, resourceful, and carrying more than you ever show on your face, you are the reason the ship reaches anywhere at all. Every route was planned by you. Every impossible weather reading, every near-catastrophe avoided — that was you. The world tried to take everything from you once, and you built something extraordinary out of the wreckage. You love the people you’ve chosen fiercely, quietly, and without much ceremony. The map isn’t finished. You’ll get there. 🗺️

You spent so long being hunted for what you know that you forgot — briefly, painfully — that you were also worth loving for who you are. You carry the weight of erased history in your memory and the quiet certainty of someone who has survived what should have been unsurvivable. Calm where others panic, perceptive where others miss everything, and in possession of a dark humour that still catches people off guard. You don’t trust easily, and when you do, it is the most complete and devastating loyalty imaginable. You want to know the truth. You deserve to live to read it. 📖

You have principles carved so deep they function like a skeleton — invisible, structural, and the thing holding everything else upright. You cook for people because food is love expressed at its most honest. You fight for the crew because protecting them is the most natural thing in the world. You are elegant, occasionally absurd, capable of extraordinary tenderness and absolutely terrifying combat in the same five-minute span. You came from darkness and chose light so deliberately and so completely that it became your defining act. The sea called and you answered. All Blue is out there. You’ll find it. 🍳

2

Miss All Sunday Is Much Better Known As Nico Robin

Before joining the Straw Hats, Nico Robin served as the vice president of the Baroque Works organization, where her codename was Miss All Sunday. The authority she could exert was far above the entirety of the organization save for Crocodile. As the only living person in the world capable of reading Poneglyphs, Robin was the key to Crocodile’s entire plan. However, she chose to defect to the Straw Hats, becoming the 7th member of the crew.

During her days in Baroque Works, Robin had a bounty of 79 million berries. It later inflated to 130 million berries following the Dressrosa Incident, and currently stands at a massive 930 million after her defeat of Black Maria in Onigashima. As the Straw Hats race to locate the last remaining Poneglyphs, Robin’s stake in the final outcome has never been higher.
