

These great oatmeal cookies score points with their tenderness and colorful M&Ms. A treat that is perfect for children, parties or simply as a sweet snack. Not only is my recipe easy to bake, but the cookies spice up your cookie plate.
Tips for the perfect M&M oatmeal cookies
For the well-known crunch, you should use grainy oat flakes instead of melty oat flakes. This gives your cookies a great bite that goes perfectly with the crunch of the M&Ms. Also let the dough sit for 20-30 minutes before baking. This allows the cookies to keep their shape better in the oven. The result is thicker cookies.
Another tip is to add only some of the colorful chocolate chips directly into the dough, but save a few. Then press these into the unbaked cookies on the baking sheet before baking them. And like any good cookie, especially oatmeal cookies, take them out of the oven when they are still slightly soft. They will firm up as they cool after you take them out of the oven.

Great oatmeal cookies with chocolate beans

- 120 G butter, Room temperature
- 170 G brown sugar
- 100 G white sugar
- 1 egg, medium size
- 2 tsp vanilla extract, or 2 packets of vanilla sugar
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp cinnamon, ground
- 140 G oatmeal, grainy
- 125 G wheat flour
- 180 G Mini M&Ms, or other chocolate chips

Beat the softened butter and both types of sugar in a bowl with a hand mixer until smooth.

Add the egg and vanilla and continue mixing.

Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Be careful not to stir for too long or at a high level.

Then carefully mix in the mini M&Ms.

Place the dough covered in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.

In the meantime, preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan oven). Line two baking sheets with baking paper.

Using a tablespoon or scoop, place small heaps on the baking sheet. Flatten them a little with a tablespoon.

Bake the oatmeal cookies for 12-13 minutes, then let them cool on the baking sheet for a minute or two before transferring them to a wire rack.
