Commercial: Getting out of the college crisis with a MacBook +++ “Sales Coach” app relies on AI presenters | News

Academic training regularly puts its participants to the test with tight deadlines: exams have to be passed, protocols have to be written, homework has to be handed in. Even with good time management, some things require one or two night shifts – and cannot be completed without failure in the meantime. A minute-and-a-half-long commercial clip condenses several university microdramas into a parallel plot to promote Apple laptops.

The first half is characterized by failures: students from various disciplines are frustrated, annoyed, and encounter error messages from their programming environment. File after file ends up in the virtual trash can of the macOS dock. A brief moment of silence, underlined by the break in the song “I’ve got this all under control” by Willow Kayne: taking a deep breath, taking a shower – and then the change in mood: the saving idea, a smile, frenetic activity, and finally clicking on the “send” button. The layout is successful, the robot arm is running smoothly. The MacBooks, on which all the protagonists ultimately master their various tasks, take on supporting roles.

Sales training via AI presenter
Apple relies on online training material to train its sales employees. It was only in February that Apple replaced the previously used (internal) app “SEED” with “Sales Coach”. The group now wants to rely primarily on AI-generated videos in order to provide individual and up-to-date information in many languages in a timely manner. In a leaked video, Carrie, an Apple trainer in the United States, explains what the benefits are: This allows personalized content to be generated quickly for “hundreds of thousands” of sales reps.

Transparent and controlled
AI-generated content is always marked with a special logo so that sales employees can recognize that a video was generated using artificial intelligence. At the same time, great importance is placed on the quality and correctness of the content: The scripts are still written by Apple’s training team, who checked every detail and designed every lesson, Carrie explains: “The expertise is human. The AI delivers it to you personally, in your language.” In this way, more videos would be created, they would be completed more quickly and would be updated more frequently. Without AI help, this was simply impossible.
