Chocolatey ant cake like grandma’s, the classic for young and old!

Ant cake

Sometimes it’s the simple classics that inspire us the most – and this chocolaty ant cake is exactly such a cake. Light, juicy and covered in fine chocolate sprinkles that melt into little “chocolate ants” when baked. Many of us remember it from our childhood, perhaps even as a baking mix, but you can do it without it – super juicy, quick to make and irresistibly chocolaty! The name alone arouses curiosity in children. The appearance is created by the chocolate sprinkles in the dough, which look like little ants crawling through the cake after baking. This is not only pleasing to the eye, but also provides a delicious sweetness and a light chocolate flavor that goes perfectly with the fluffy dough of the cake. Have you ever tried it?!

Ant cake – a chocolaty favorite cake!

This recipe is perfect if you spontaneously crave chocolate, are expecting guests or simply want to bake an uncomplicated cake that everyone is guaranteed to enjoy. Quickly mixed together, guaranteed to be a success and wonderfully chocolaty – that’s what a favorite cake has to be like!

Creative additions to ant cakes

Still have eggnog in the cupboard? You can replace some of the cream with eggnog to give the ant cake a juicy and aromatic note. Or how about a fruity note? Cherries in particular go well with the taste of chocolate and bring a delicious, juicy and fruity aroma. Of course you can try fruits like raspberries or blueberries – let your creativity run wild!
