In the last few weeks we have only been at home and therefore we have been able to do a lot of things in the house that we had been putting off for some time. Everything bad has something good and so we finally tackled Hannes’ corner of the room. An old Expedit shelf had to go and a beautiful book corner was created that invites you to read and play.
I browsed long and extensively at Jollyroom, could hardly make a decision and finally ordered these wonderful pieces, which have now transformed Hannes’ room into a cozy children’s room:
I really wanted a nice, but above all stable table, as Hannes currently enjoys sitting at a children’s table, building and, above all, painting for hours. Many of the tables that I had looked at so far were simply too “wobbly” for me. Not this seating set from Minitude Nordic! It is made of solid wood and very heavy. It’s almost impossible to overturn this table. The pretty antler chairs are also available as rabbit ear chairs. I could hardly decide. Small but important detail on the side: The chair can also stand me without any problems. 😉
I would also like to build a “house bed” with Markus when the child’s bed becomes too small. You certainly know what I’m talking about. That’s why I immediately fell in love with this wonderful shelf (Alice & Fox) in a house look. I think it could also be used very well as a cute dollhouse. Let’s see what “journey” we still have ahead of us with the shelf. Maybe one day it will be repurposed as a dollhouse.
When we gave Hannes the toolbox (Kids Concept), he was immediately blown away and didn’t play with anything else. He “repaired” his car and added the screws and nails. He always helps Markus put together the furniture and there have been a lot of them so far ^^. Of course he was also allowed to help with his own and is always fascinated.
I’m a fan of design letters and so Hannes just had to get these building blocks. I didn’t even know that the brand also had building blocks. By chance I came across it at Jollyroom and immediately ordered a set in white. Hannes also has mugs and plates from Designletters. The minimalist design is always an eye-catcher. The highlight was when Hannes discovered a “moon” on the building blocks. He’s just blown away by the moon at the moment, looks for it in all the books, sees moons in posters and pictures, paints moons and of course wants to see the moon in the sky every morning and evening.
Let’s move on to Alice & Fox’s chest. I think a chest simply belongs in a child’s room, especially when you can still sit on it and it looks so beautiful. At the moment I have diapers and wipes stored in the chest. You can simply store unsightly but perhaps necessary things in a chest. The nice thing about the chest is that a hinge prevents fingers from being crushed.
You know, I love the coziness of the boho style and the Oyoy rug simply gives our play area that extra bit of comfort and warmth. The color of the pompom cushion (kikadu) matches this perfectly. I love it when Hannes plays with his toolbox and his building blocks, to snuggle up in them for a few minutes and just enjoy the moment.
Stay healthy and maybe you’ll now feel like making your home an oasis of well-being.
