Sparkling investment! Caro Daur joins the Hamburg beverage startup Joony’s Natural Soda’s as an investor and strategic partner. The company wants to establish a new beverage category in Germany with so-called “natural sodas”.
In addition to capital, Daur will also support the startup with her network and experience in brand building, trading and strategic partnerships. Those involved did not provide any information about the amount of the investment.
Joony’s was founded by Bijan Mashagh and Josa Rödiger. The company relies on carbonated soft drinks made with fruit juice and natural ingredients. According to the company’s own information, the drinks contain no added sugar, no sweeteners and no artificial flavors.
“I like to drink it myself and believe in the idea behind it, so it became clear to me pretty quickly that I wanted to invest,” Daur is quoted as saying in a statement.
Joony’s positions its products as “natural soda” – a category between classic lemonade and water. The startup sees this as a growing market as consumers increasingly look for drinks with less sugar and natural ingredients.
The company launched its own online shop in June. According to the company, the drinks have been available nationwide in participating Edeka stores as well as at Wolt Market, in selected restaurants and in travel retail since July.
