Brand loyalty at Apple, Samsung and Google
When asked in the opposite direction, i.e. who definitely wants to move away from the iPhone, only 3.6 percent of survey participants said yes – that’s exceptionally low, regardless of which product category you look at. In the Android camp, however, just over 13 percent made the decision to choose another manufacturer. However, there are clear differences between the individual providers; Samsung in particular can count on very loyal customers. The 90.1 percent determined is a long way from Apple’s values, but still above average in the industry. Google, however, recorded the biggest increase. While only 65 percent said in 2021 that they would definitely buy a Google smartphone again, according to the new survey, the figure is almost 87 percent.
Why do you stick with the iPhone?
SellCell went a step further and asked why iPhone users don’t consider another platform. Please note: Only one answer was permitted for these questions, although several factors certainly play a role at the same time.
60.8 percent of participants answered that they generally prefer Apple, and 17.4 percent mentioned their spending on the Apple ecosystem. Easier operation was the priority for 10 percent, problem-free use for 8.7 percent and security-related considerations for 3.1 percent.
Android users looking to switch should mention the main reason why. 32 percent said it was better value for money, 27 percent said “better technology,” and 23.5 percent answered “I just want something new.” Fourth place in the order is particularly interesting, because 11.5 percent will turn their back on their previous system because of iOS.
