In just over a week, Apple will announce the next Siri generation at the Worldwide Developers Conference 2026, which is based internally on Google Gemini after internal developments came to nothing. Yesterday there was a report that the WWDC invitation graphics are based on Siri’s new user interface – and that it is completely dark. Mark Gurman from Bloomberg has now published some screenshots showing the new user interface. However, the images are fake screenshots based on information from the usually well-informed journalist.
Camera app integration
Apple is probably planning to adapt the camera app so that the user can directly call up Siri or “Visual Intelligence” from it. The “Siri” item is now available in the selection menu for the photo or video mode:
The camera app also gives you access to features to remove distracting elements or expand the image using AI. The camera app should also be adaptable in iOS 27. Users should be able to “pin” frequently used modes and controls so that they are always at hand.
The Siri app
In terms of its basic layout, the new Siri app is structured exactly like the Messages/iMessage app and allows interaction with Siri like a chat bot:
In the bottom bar there is a text field for typing in questions – or dictating them using the microphone button. There is also a paper clip button next to it to attach pictures or graphics.
It is also possible to access previous conversations with Siri, which are displayed in a tile view:
The conversations can have an expiration date so that they delete themselves after a few days or weeks.
Search or ask questions
Siri 2.0 can be activated at any time with a swipe gesture on the Dynamic Island – and the text field animates from the Dynamic Island:
In this way, Siri 2.0 is always directly accessible. It is also visible here that Siri also offers access to external AI models, such as ChatGPT. Furthermore, the user should still have the option of activating Siri using “Hey Siri” or “Siri” or holding the power button to dictate. The swipe gesture via the Dynamic Island apparently does not replace the previous ways of activating Siri.
