Seven new products for the Self Service Repair program
Apple has presented some new products in the past few weeks. These devices now also appear in the so-called “self-service repair store”. Users can therefore order original parts and find out how to repair them properly. The following devices have been added:
- iPhone 17e
- iPad Air M4
- MacBook Air M5
- MacBook Pro M5 Pro/Max
- MacBook Neo
- Studio Display (2026)
- Studio Display XDR
As usual, the repair instructions are detailed: Apple provides them with helpful pictures and short videos to help you explain the individual steps. However, the components are quite expensive, so they are aimed more at people who enjoy repairing defective devices themselves. An example: The display and the screw kit for the iPhone 17e together cost 269 euros. Anyone who brings an iPhone 17e with a broken screen to Apple for repairs will pay exactly the same amount.
MacBook Neo: Repairs are often easier
The manual for the MacBook Neo shows how comparatively easy it is to repair the latest Apple computer. iFixit has already pointed out how easy it is to replace components such as USB-C ports (see here). For example, the keyboard can be removed separately without having to replace the entire upper part of the housing.
