Apple’s new introductions: delivery times begin to increase | News

In previous years, it was almost a rule that delivery times became longer and longer shortly after new hardware went on sale. For iPhones these were sometimes up to three months, but Macs were also sometimes sold out for weeks. Apple has now largely got this problem under control, because the often expressed theory of artificial shortages is hardly tenable – Apple emphasized several times that delivery delays cause financial damage instead of creating tension. A look at the current forecasts for the recently revised Macs shows that demand is largely being mastered, even though some versions of the MacBook Neo are almost sold out.

It was already observed yesterday in the USA, and here today too: the variant with 512 GB of storage capacity seems to be in high demand. While you should still receive devices with 256 GB on the originally stated delivery date or a maximum of one day later, things are different with double memory. With the yellow casing, Apple now states a waiting time of up to three and a half weeks and gives March 30th as the date. Choosing pink and 512GB sets the value to March 16th to 23rd. There are no shortages of indigo and silver.

MacBook Air and MacBook Pro
Anyone who chooses a MacBook Air M5 will still receive their order on March 11th – unless the standard 512 GB SSD capacity or 16 GB unified memory is not enough. 1 TB, 2 TB or 4 TB SSD and 24 or 32 GB RAM lead to delivery times of just under three weeks. It looks similar with the MacBook Pro. Without additional options, Apple delivers on time, other combinations of more RAM or larger SSD replace March 11th with the week of March 23rd.

iPad Air M4, iPhone 17e, Studio Display
Buyers of the iPad Air M4 or the iPhone 17e don’t have to worry – no matter which colors and memory levels you click on, the delivery date remains unchanged on March 11th. But since these were also moderate upgrades, nothing else was to be expected. The two new studio displays will also continue to be available immediately on Wednesday of next week. Only the XDR variant entails another day of waiting.
