When accessed, the website Howdidwelosethisworld presents its own name in noisy scrolling text. After clicking on the silo symbol in the upper left corner, an interface appears that is based on a slightly older macOS (without Liquid Glass). Teaser for “Neuromancer”
It has been known since the beginning of 2024 that Apple is planning a series adaptation of the cyberpunk classic “Neuromancer” by William Gibson. The first season is now nearing completion: broadcasting is scheduled to begin in the fall. With a half-minute clip, Apple awakens nostalgic memories of retro hardware – and alludes to the novel.
A finger presses the button decorated with a large A, the rattling of hard drives and fans begins. “Ashpool 1” appears on the CRT monitor. Then follows the first sentence of the William Gibson novel. That’s it – at the end, the logo of Apple’s streaming service shines in pink neon. There is already a preview page for the series on its portal, but it has not yet announced an exact start date.
