Previous basic configuration deleted
Previously, the Mac mini was available in the basic configuration with an M4 without the name suffix, 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of SSD for 699 euros including VAT (in the USA for 599 dollars excluding VAT). Apple has now removed exactly this configuration from the range – the Mac mini with M4 is now only available with 512 GB or more SSD capacity. Therefore, the starting price directly from Apple now increases to 949 euros including VAT (in the USA to 799 dollars excluding VAT). For the new basic configuration with 512 GB SSD and 16 GB RAM, Apple currently states a delivery time of 4-5 weeks in the Apple Online Store. If you want 24 GB of RAM, the delivery time increases to 9-10 weeks. The configuration with 32 GB RAM is currently not available.
Still long delivery times
The Mac Studio and the Mac mini have been out of stock or not available at all for a few weeks now. According to current CEO Tim Cook, the situation will not change in the coming months because, according to a statement at yesterday’s quarterly conference, the devices are very popular for AI tasks – and Apple cannot meet the demand.
New models probably later
If devices in the Apple Online Store are difficult to deliver, this has always been a sure sign in the past that new models will soon be released. However, this is most likely not currently the case with the Mac mini and Mac Studio, because Apple will not present updated devices to the public if demand cannot currently be met. Therefore, it may take until fall 2026 or even spring 2027 before Apple brings a new generation of the Mac mini or Mac Studio onto the market.
