Apple has long since reached a late phase of concrete production preparations, so more than just individual components or schematic drawings are circulating. There is now a photo from a previously little-known leaker called Early Apple that shows the dimensions of the sensor section. He published the following photo, supplemented by the mention that nothing has changed with the standard model:

Ice Universe also contributes recordings in which the display does not appear in action, but only the two components for the camera and Face ID. During operation, these are surrounded by the familiar black pill, but here you can clearly see the significantly shrunken left section.

Of course, it is difficult to verify whether the photos are real. However, they are in line with numerous reports from various sources that have been reporting on exactly this change for months. The longer-term goal is apparently still to be able to completely do without such cutouts at some point – however, since the Dynamic Island has proven to be a practical element, it is a compromise that can be overcome, probably having to wait another year for a full-surface display without interruption.
