All Black Outfit: The Grainy Edit

All black outfit: the grainy edit

EN • These photos have been sitting in my camera roll for years. They are slightly grainy, a little imperfect, but full of memories from a warm afternoon wandering the streets of Barcelona. I hesitated to share them at first. The lighting wasn’t right, the focus was off. But lately I’ve been drawn to the beauty in those “not-so-perfect” captures. They feel real, lived-in, and full of texture — much like the outfit itself.

EN • These photos are a few years old and have never been posted. Taken in Barcelona, on one of those sunny days that you always look back on fondly. To be honest, the quality isn’t the best: too dark, not enough focus. But somehow that’s exactly what I like. This slightly grainy, imperfect quality – it has charm, doesn’t it?

All black outfit with a pop of white

EN • For this all black outfit, I leaned fully into a color palette that I often feel good in: black on black. I wore a fringed black skirt that moved beautifully with every step. I paired it with a fitted black top and my Celine belt to pull it all together. To keep things balanced, I threw on an oversized black blazer — a little structured, a little slouchy, and perfectly effortless. My Celine sunglasses added that sleek, almost cinematic touch that felt right for the mood of the day. And then, to break up all the black, I finished with a pair of white high boots. I love how they pop against the darker tones — it’s that subtle statement that keeps the outfit from feeling too predictable.

EN • That day I really wanted an all black outfit. I wore a black fringe skirt (I’ve styled it here before). Added a simple black top and my Celine belt, which made the whole thing look a bit more elegant. On top of that I wore my oversized blazer – loose, cool, a bit androgynous – exactly my thing. Of course, the Celine sunglasses were a must. And then the little break in style: white high boots. I love how they pop out of the look and give it such a modern twist.

Loved the look, the moment and the photos were….okay

EN • Looking back, I’m glad I kept these photos. Even through the grain, they capture a moment. The sun on the stone streets, the quiet confidence of an all-black look, and the reminder that style doesn’t need to be perfectly polished to feel timeless.

EN • When I look at the pictures today, I’m really glad that I never deleted them. They may not be perfect, but they remind me of a really good time – and that fashion can be fun, even without filters and perfection.
