Apple TV: Football live via iPhone 17 Pro, new crime comedy series, further seasons of successful series announced | News

The iPhone continues to gain new video recording capabilities every year, as Apple never tires of pointing out. It was “Cinematic Slow Motion” on the iPhone 16 Pro, improved image stabilization, larger color space and more frame rate flexibility on the iPhone 17 Pro. This weekend, Apple wants to demonstrate how good iPhones are at live reporting: The Major League Soccer (MLS) game LA Galaxy against Houston Dynamo FC will be broadcast live on Apple TV. The company relies entirely on the iPhone 17 Pro when it comes to capturing moving images.

Apple began experimenting with iPhone-supported live broadcasts last year. The “Friday Night Baseball” series used an iPhone 17 pro as a camera to capture the atmosphere of the stadium as well as some scenes from the game. Tomorrow’s football game will now exclusively use the company’s own high-end smartphones. The game will take place at Digital Health Sports Park in Carson, California. Live viewers in Europe have to set an alarm clock: the LA Galaxy – Houston Dynamo FC game starts at 4:30 on Whit Sunday.
