The company behind voucher and discount software is being sold – this is the second major exit for co-founder Christoph Gerber.
One of the biggest deals in the German startup scene has been confirmed: the Berlin company Talon One will be taken over by the Dutch payment service provider Adyen for around 750 million euros. This is the second major mega deal for co-founder Christoph Gerber.
The company, founded in 2015 by Gerber and Sebastian Haas, specializes in software that companies can use to centrally control discount campaigns, vouchers and loyalty programs. According to the company, more than 300 companies worldwide now use the platform.
Such a sale is not new territory for Gerber: he was previously involved in setting up Lieferando, which was sold to then-rival Takeaway in 2014. Even after the current deal, the two founders will remain in the company.
