iPhone Air 2, iPhone 18 and iPhone Fold: Leakers comment on the possible release | News

When it comes to releasing new iPhones, Apple is usually very traditional: a corresponding keynote usually takes place in September, and the devices are usually released shortly afterwards. This year, however, things seem to be a little different: The iPhone 18 without the name suffix will probably not be available in stores and will not be available until 2027. The iPhone 18 Pro (Max), on the other hand, should actually be available for purchase in the fall. When it comes to the first foldable iPhone and the second generation iPhone Air, industry experts are reporting quite contradictory information.

iPhone 18 will probably not come until spring 2027
The iPhone 18 without an additional name will probably be a long time coming – almost all leakers agree on that. Ice Universe also assumes that the device will have a smaller dynamic island. However, most other leakers see it differently – including Fixed Focus Digital, who recently published a new post on Weibo. The design of the iPhone 18 has undergone almost no changes compared to the previous model – only minor differences in size are conceivable.

iPhone Air 2: Disagreement on features and release
With the iPhone Air 2 everything stays as usual when it comes to Fixed Focus Digital. He previously stated that the device would come onto the market in the fall of this year. It is the “usual upgrade” without any major innovations. The Information and Mark Gurman do not share this assessment: They assume that Apple will not release the product until spring 2027. According to The Information, the device will have a second camera on the back, but Gurman is not sure about this.

iPhone Fold: Problems with test production?
Setsuna Digital draws attention in a new article to the fact that test production has started at Foxconn. The leaker sees this as a good sign of a scheduled market launch. Nikkei Asia is now rushing forward with a new article and addressing some problems: More problems than expected occurred in the early phase of test production. Apple needs more time to fix these and make necessary adjustments. The current situation jeopardizes the schedule for mass production. The report leaves it open whether the release will even take place next year. Barclays analyst Tim Long and Mark Gurman also expect a delayed release (see here).
