The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority returns as Gold Sponsor for the 12th AUA Rohrman Trail & Swim Fest on April 11–12, 2026. Attracting athletes worldwide, the event showcases the islands’ natural beauty while boosting sports tourism and global exposure through world-class competition across trails, open water, and triathlon events.

St. John’s, Antigua & Barbuda – The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority has reaffirmed its commitment to sports tourism by returning as a Gold Sponsor for the 12th edition of the AUA Rohrman Trail & Swim Fest, scheduled for April 11-12, 2026.

The continued partnership highlights a shared vision to position Antigua and Barbuda as a premier destination for international endurance events, leveraging the islands’ natural beauty and world-class race environments to attract global attention.

With registration still open, the 2026 festival is already drawing a strong international field. More than 100 athletes from across the Caribbean, North America, the United Kingdom, and Europe are expected to compete. The largest contingents are coming from Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados, and the United States, with additional participants traveling from Canada, Guadeloupe, Ireland, Australia, Poland, Jamaica, Cuba, and beyond—demonstrating the event’s growing global appeal.

Colin C. James, CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, emphasized the importance of the event in elevating the destination’s profile.

“The AUA Rohrman Trail & Swim Fest is an important platform for positioning Antigua and Barbuda as a leading sports tourism destination. This event highlights the very best of our country, from our breathtaking landscapes and pristine waters to our ability to host high-quality international events.

Event Director Rory Butler also highlighted the value of the ongoing partnership.

Not only are we welcoming athletes from across the world, but we are now able to showcase Antigua and Barbuda in a truly world-class way, through high-quality video and photography that captures the essence of our island.”

The Tourism Authority’s support will play a key role in expanding the event’s international reach, enabling enhanced video production, professional photography, and broader global exposure. These efforts aim to showcase the unique experience of racing through some of the Caribbean’s most scenic and untouched landscapes.

Participants will traverse iconic locations including Rendezvous Bay, Wallings, Cade Peak, Carlisle Bay, and Morris Bay. From rugged coastal trails and steep climbs to turquoise waters and pristine beaches, the festival offers one of the most diverse and visually striking race environments in the region.

The AUA Rohrman Trail & Swim Fest caters to athletes of all levels, featuring a wide range of events including 5K Walk/Run, 7K, 16K, and 25K trail races, 2K and 4K open water swims, Sprint and Olympic triathlons, as well as Kids Triathlon events.

Founded in 2012, the AUA Rohrman Trail & Swim Fest has grown into Antigua and Barbuda’s premier endurance sports festival. Now in its 12th edition, the event continues to blend high-level competition with unforgettable scenery, further solidifying the destination’s place on the global endurance sports map.
