Shantanu Narayen was at the helm of Adobe for 18 years. During this time, the company grew from 3,000 to over 30,000 employees and sales from less than $1 billion to more than $25 billion. Narayen successfully transformed Adobe into a subscription and creative software heavyweight, although there are doubts among investors about how well-equipped the provider is for the AI age. Adobe has invested a lot here, but there is a lot of new competition on the market. The share price reflects this, because this year there was already a loss of 22 percent, and in 2025 the decline was 21 percent. However, Narayen now announced on the occasion of the quarterly figures that he would soon be withdrawing. After a successor has been found as part of the orderly transition, he still wants to remain Chairman of the Board. According to the announcement, Adobe is looking for a new CEO both internally and externally. Regarding the quarterly results themselves: Adobe reported record sales of $6.4 billion for “Q1 FY2026”, which corresponds to growth of 12 percent compared to the previous year.
WhatsApp with new children’s accounts
WhatsApp has announced that it will introduce an additional account form. This is aimed at pre-teens – or their parents. The company describes the new feature as a specially restricted type of access in which parents or guardians set up a WhatsApp account on their child’s device and then link it to their own device. You can then specify who can contact the child and which groups the account can join.
The account is managed exclusively by the parents and is protected with an additional PIN so that the protection mechanisms cannot be changed by the children. According to the company, the content of personal conversations remains end-to-end encrypted – reading is not possible.
WhatsApp is an important means of communication for many families – for example for making arrangements after school, for updates to relatives or for a short message that someone has arrived safely. The new account form should be understood as a response to the wishes of families and experts.
WhatsApp wants to start activating it these days, but the entire rollout will take place over a period of several months.
