Now the time has come: Part 3 and therefore the last part of our little DIY series with Fujifilm instax instant photos is online. I hope you enjoy crafting and painting.

DIY: recipe book with pictures

Don’t you feel the same way? I have a hard time trying a recipe without a picture. How wonderful it would be if you made your own book with pictures of all your favorite recipes. I already told you in another post that we associate waffles with a particularly cozy Sunday morning. Eating waffles is “hygge” for me. That’s why the choice of favorite recipe fell on the waffle recipe, which was captured directly with the instax mini camera. It’s as simple as taking a photo of your cooking or baking with an instant camera and then gluing it into a recipe book you designed yourself as a recipe photo.

Now for the DIY:
Everyone knows it: the bullet journal. In 2020, I decided to create such a journal. Unfortunately, with a child, I often didn’t have the time to deal with it regularly. Maybe you’re also one of those creative people who want to turn simple things into a wonderful work of art. Then this DIY is just right for you. How about making a bullet journal of just favorite recipes? Your own recipe book with a work of art character, so to speak! I took on the project and am absolutely thrilled with the result. I always have my instax Mini 11 with me so I can capture small and big moments and look at them directly. This time I took a photo of our favorite family recipe and used it to create a beautiful recipe page. I painted and lettered the ingredients and preparation.

Materials:
All you need is:

  • a notebook with a dot grid (at least it’s the best place to draw and letter)
  • an instant camera (e.g. instax Mini 11)
  • instax instant film (e.g. instax mini double pack)
  • Pens of your choice
  • Recipes and lots of love and time to create

Directions:

  1. First of all, you have to take a photo of your recipe results with an instant camera.
  2. Afterwards, of course, we ate the delicious waffles and continued in the evening.
  3. Position your instax instant photo on a desired page of your notebook.
  4. Now write (in pencil) your recipe title, the ingredients and the respective preparation. For the waffle recipe, I decided to draw the individual ingredients.
  5. If you like your result, you can easily paint over everything with paints and fineliner.
  6. In the last step I erased everything and glued the picture in place.

DIY: fridge magnets made from clothespins

Do you also have a fridge with magnets? Does it sometimes look untidy and impersonal to you? I “cleaned out” our refrigerator. Then I suddenly had the idea of using clothespins, magnets and a label maker to create fridge magnets with personality and to give our many instax instant photos a new “home”. We now have so many wonderful instant photos that remind us of even more beautiful places, great celebrations or that special family moment. It doesn’t always have to be a vacation, my favorite instant photos were taken at home when we were fooling around and “capturing” the moment. They always put a smile on my face. That’s why I wanted to hang these pictures on our fridge because I see them there every day and am reminded of beautiful moments.

Materials:
All you need is:

  • Instant camera (e.g. instax Mini LiPlay)
  • instax instant film (e.g. instax mini double pack)
  • Wooden clothespins
  • Self-adhesive magnetic plates
  • a label maker, alternatively you could write directly on the clips with a pen or stick a shape (heart, star, etc.) on it

Directions:

  1. First, stick two to three magnetic adhesive plates onto the clothespins.
  2. On the visible side you stick your message or whatever you have chosen as decoration.
  3. Then your clothespin magnet is ready for your fridge.

I made several of them so that I could have the right “headline” for almost every picture. Of course, there are once again no limits to your ideas.
