(serves 4)
6 medium golden potatoes
1 cup cooked ham or bacon cut into fine cubes
1 small onion
salt, black grated pepper, ground nutmeg to taste
butter and olive oil for frying

Cooking Instructions Fried Potatoes

– Peel potatoes and slice them thinly.
– Chop onion fine.
– Cut ham into small cubes.
– Heat oil in a non-sticking skillet (This is important. In any other regular pan it will stick to the bottom).
– Fry onions until transparent, add the ham. Mix well.
– Let cook for 1-2 min, then add sliced potatoes.
– Add spices as needed. Mix carefully, don’t mash potatoes.
– Turn them several times until they are slightly brown on all sides and crunchy.
– Serve them with fresh bread, sausages or meatballs, meatloaf or sauerkraut.
