Apple offers a whole range of services that require a subscription: These include iCloud+ and the streaming services Apple Music and Apple TV. The Creator Studio has recently been added: The subscription unlocks various AI features for Pages, Numbers and Keynote and allows access to software such as Logic Pro and Final Cut Pro. According to well-informed journalist Mark Gurman, the company is examining other services that could be suitable as a source of income (see here). Bloomberg already drew attention to “Project Mulberry” last year: This is a concept that envisages an AI-supported health coach. Apple is working on a completely overhauled Health app to integrate the service there and provide videos. The AI bundles the user’s health data and links it with the expertise of doctors that Cupertino hires – including sleep doctors, physiotherapists, nutritionists and cardiologists. Apple even looked for a well-known doctor to be a moderator for a studio set up in Oakland, California. However, the group does not seem to have made much progress: According to Bloomberg, services boss Eddy Cue has now commented on Health+ and does not currently give the project a good rating.

Cue told his colleagues that Apple needed to move faster and become more competitive in the healthcare sector. Competitors like Oura Health and Whoop come up with “more compelling and useful functions,” especially with their iPhone apps. Health+ does not yet meet the requirements of a health service. According to Bloomberg, Apple is now planning to gradually introduce individual health features in the Health app. In the future, this will be used to evaluate the user’s gait via the iPhone camera. A chatbot is also planned to answer questions about the user’s well-being. With iOS 27, Siri should also be ready to process advanced health-related requests.
