Jujutsu Kaisen‘s anime is now three seasons in, and the series still shows no signs of slowing down. Just when it seemed like nothing could top the Shibuya Arc, Season 3 came in hot with the Culling Game and some of the best fights in the entire series. Despite missing fan-favorites like Nobara, Gojo, and Nanami, the newest season has still managed to deliver one thrilling match-up after another. Keeping things fresh and interesting are also all the new faces and techniques introduced in Season 3, such as Yuta Okkotsu, Kinji Hakari, Naoya Zenin, Fumihiko Takaba, and Hiromi Higuruma, to name only a few.
What was already a very exciting arc in the manga has been elevated to a whole new level in the anime, with MAPPA pulling out all the stops for every fight and nearly every episode. And, things are likely only going to get better with Season 4, which is set to bring the second half of the Culling Game Arc, though it may still be tough for the new season to top these exceptional fights from Season 3.

Megumi and Panda vs. Kirara
Episode #6
In addition to Yuta Okkotsu, Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen also introduces two new Tokyo Jujutsu High students, or rather, ex-students— Hoshino Kirara and Hakari Kinji. Megumi, Panda, and Yuji are tasked with recruiting the two rebels over to their side to help with the Culling Game and this is where Kirara and Megumi cross paths.
The fight between Kirara and Megumi is a classic Jujutsu Kaisen fight, littered with exposition about Kirara’s peculiar Cursed Technique between the action, without feeling intrusive or interrupting the flow of the battle. The episode does showcase some pretty impressive animation, but compared to the rest of Season 3, this fight does fall a little short on the wow factor save for a few really good shots.

Yuta vs. Yuji
Episode #1 & 2
The fight between Yuta and Yuji serves as the very introduction to Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen and the Culling Game, and it’s certainly a fight worthy of the big screen. Albeit a sham to help Yuta bypass the binding vow placed upon him to kill Yuji, Yuta does not pull his punches.
Yuji admittedly puts up a great fight despite being cornered multiple times and being completely unable to read Yuta’s moves due to the sheer amount of cursed energy emanating off him. Even so, the fight quickly comes to an end once Rika enters the ring, and it’s frankly a shame the battle didn’t last longer.

Choso vs. Naoya
Episode #1 & 2
Besides the fight between Yuji and Yuta, the start of Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen also treats fans to another thrilling match-up, pitting Choso against the series’ newest antagonist, Naoya Zenin. Jujutsu Kaisen’s anime hypes Naoya and his abilities even more than the manga, putting exceptional care into animating him.
Episode 1 even adds a whole new anime-exclusive sequence of Naoya nonchalantly thrashing Choso with punches. The anime takes what was an unimpressive, unmemorable fight in the manga, and not only fleshes it out, but breathes new life into it. The entire sequence of Choso and Naoya’s fight in the tunnel in Episode 2 is especially stunning, if not one of the most impressive cuts of the entire battle.
4
Yuji vs. Higuruma
Episode #9
Hiromi Higuruma is one of the newest characters to join Jujutsu Kaisen’s cast as of Season 3, and he’s already on his way to becoming a fan favorite just like Nanami and Gojo. Besides having a very striking introduction, Higuruma and his fight against Yuji is all the more memorable thanks to Higuruma’s unique Cursed Technique, Deadly Sentencing.
Unlike typical violent domains, Higuruma’s domain takes the form of a courtroom, which is where most of the battle takes place. That said, Yuji and Higuruma’s battle isn’t without action, which mostly takes place after the judgment has been passed. And, Jujutsu Kaisen’s anime enhances the fight even further with fast-paced yet fluid combat and a striking color palette.
3
Megumi vs. Reggie
Episode #10 & 11
Jujutsu Kaisen’s power system is famously complicated, yet it’s precisely what makes certain fights all the more satisfying. An excellent example of this is Megumi and Reggie’s fight in Season 3. The fight is a very technical one and sees Megumi’s incomplete domain come face-to-face against Reggie Star’s very unique Cursed Technique, which directly tests the limits of Megumi and Chimera Shadow Garden.
Megumi keeps his cards close throughout, with his final play taking both Reggie and viewers completely by surprise. At the same time, the fights also give fans a taste of some classic fist fighting towards the second half, with an oddly serene finale to the flashy, chaotic fight to top things off.
2
Maki vs. the Zenin Clan and Naoya
Episode #4
Jujutsu Kaisen is no stranger to blood and gore, and the Shibuya Arc was already sufficient proof of this. However, never has the series seen a massacre as violent and bloody as Maki’s extermination of the Zenin Clan, and that’s exactly what makes it so satisfying.
The battle is also very emotionally charged owing to Mai’s death, which makes Maki’s revenge even sweeter. The best part is that, with Maki having neither a flashy Cursed Technique nor a Domain Expansion, this fight is one of pure brute strength and physicality, which is satisfying in its own way, especially when Maki is later pitted against Naoya.
The episode’s animation and direction are also top-notch, with the anime going out of its way to give fans multiple angles of Naoya getting his face punched in, as well as the bones in his face shattering as Maki lands the penultimate blow.
1
Yuta vs. Kurourushi, Uro, and Ishigori
Episode #12
Yuta’s battle in the Sendai Colony against Kurourushi, Takako Uro, and Ishigori Ryu served as the epic finale for Season 3 of Jujutsu Kaisen, and the series could not have picked a more exciting battle to end on. The episode takes off cinematically as Yuta battles the special grade cursed spirit, Kurourushi, with an excellent score to set the mood.
Of course, the real spectacle takes off with the three-way battle between Uro, Yuta, and Ryu, including the Triple Domain Expansion, which might just be one of the most exciting moments in the entire series, even though it was quickly interrupted by Kurourushi. The episode’s visuals do not disappoint in the slightest, with some shots seemingly picked up straight from the manga.
That said, what really makes this fight stand out from the rest of Season 3 is its excellent timing and pacing that keep viewers on the edge of their seats throughout. The episode is well-edited as a whole, and credit goes fully to its directors, Shota Goshozono, Shin’ya Iino, and Ryota Aikei. And, while the CGI may not be perfect in some cuts, the fight more than makes up for it in every other way that counts.
