The German unicorns are growing – and are still looking for staff. Who is hiring, which specializations are particularly in demand? An Indeed analysis for the start-up scene shows: Unicorns will advertise a total of 1,700 open positions in February 2026.
“The unicorns are sending a remarkable signal: While the general labor market has been stagnating or declining for years, with currently 1,700 vacancies they are even exceeding the level of the job boom year of 2022,” says Frank Hensgens, Managing Director of Indeed Germany. For comparison: in 2022 there were around 1,400 job vacancies.
